Darkness becomes her by Kelly Keaton

Summary from Goodreads
Ari can’t help feeling lost and alone.
With teal eyes and freakish silver hair that can’t be changed or destroyed, Ari has always stood out.
And after growing up in foster care, she longs for some understanding of where she came from and who she is.
Her search for answers uncovers a message from her long dead mother: Run.
Ari can sense that someone, or something, is getting closer than they should.
But it’s impossible to protect herself when she doesn’t know what she’s running from or why she is being pursued.
She knows only one thing: she must return to her birthplace of New 2, the lush rebuilt city of New Orleans.
Upon arriving, she discovers that New 2 is very...different. Here, Ari is seemingly normal. But every creature she encounters, no matter how deadly or horrifying, is afraid of her.
Ari won’t stop until she knows why.
But some truths are too haunting, too terrifying, to ever be revealed.

One word can describe this book and that is unique. This book is like no other I have come across. I started this book at night and was so taken by it that I ended up staying up all night reading it and that never happens unless I really love the book!

The characters are captivating and over the course of the book you start to feel connected to them. The main character is an intriguing and unique girl. The book is written in such a way that you sot of get pulled into the book.

I thought that Sebastien was redeemed from his rude attitude too quickly, and I also thought that the relationship between him and Ari went to quickly. Other than that I loved it.
I could read this book over and over again and never get bored of it. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes books that are a bit different from to the books that are currently about.
